For a long time after its inception as an industry, the idea of online dating was stigmatised. Though those who engaged in the pursuit knew otherwise, public perception was that it was a silly approach which unnecessarily rocked traditions. In recent years, however, this attitude has been consistently challenged enough to be completely overturned. With younger generations turning to online systems to meet partners, the environment has evolved, so how did we get here?Being PreparedWhile online dating can have very positive results, like anything online, it's best to first be prepared for bad actors. As many of us have learned, the anonymity granted online can drive scammers, and as mentioned in this article on scams by ExpressVPN, the online dating variety can take many forms. Popular online dating scam methods covered in this article include the asking-for-help scam, where a person fakes intimacy to gain trust and take another person's money. Another popular method is to link dates ...How to Tackle Rising Inflation Across Europe

Wherever you are in Europe, inflation is a hot topic of conversation in 2022. From French lawmakers putting together an $8.4 billion plan to push back against rising costs to Bavaria's increasing interest rates, moves are afoot to tackle rising inflation across Europe. However, waiting for government ministers to ease the strain of inflation can feel like an endless task.Beating inflation isn’t an easy task. It’s an economic dynamic, so you can’t stop it. You could ask for a pay rise or find other ways to increase your earnings. That would increase your income and help offset the rising cost of consumables. However, in tough economic times, companies are often reluctant to pay employees more.Hedging Against InflationAn alternative way to combat rising inflation is to hedge against it. For the non-financially minded, a hedge means making investments with the aim of reducing adverse price movements. Saving money during times of high inflation and low-interest rates means the spending ...Hate crime investigation underway after Islamic Center vandalized in Koreatown; man sought

A significant winner in California’s real estate chill is the renter. The post-pandemic return to normalcy that’s decelerated California housing markets is forcing landlords statewide to compete for tenants. Meanwhile, renters are seeing the most available units in nearly two years.Consider what my trusty spreadsheet found within ApartmentList’s March report on California rents. The statewide vacancy rate rose to 5.2% in March, the highest level since April 2021 and a noteworthy jump from the 3.6% pandemic-era low in September-November 2021.Those extra options are a key reason why March’s overall statewide rent fell to $1,930 a month, down 3.5% (or $70) from August 2022’s peak. Yes, that’s still not affordable for numerous Californians, and it’s still up 15% (or $253) in three years. But at least if the price isn’t right for a tenant, they have more options.Lots of factors are cutting demand for apartments. The fear of catching COVID-19 in crowded living arrangements has dropped. The r...Alleged DUI driver rams through 2 chain-link fences at SMART parking lot in Petaluma
